Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. Her early years were spent listening to traditional music, old boleros, and traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana loves tangos as well the dramatic and opera performances. She started singing and studying music with her mother, she began her more intensive training in singing when she was 16 with renowned Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. In her early career, she saw her perform with many orchestras, chamber ensembles, and opera choirs and chamber groups in Guadalajara. After moving from Mexico to the United States in 2000, she performed for the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and frequently performs solo with the traditional Latin American music at private occasions. Passion and enthusiasm for music, art, and performing keeps her involved in many local projects as a performer and teacher. Ana has also been a former member of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is thankful for the opportunity to share her love and passion of old-fashioned Latin American songs with others, and in doing so hopes to instill a sense of particularly among the younger generation to keep this tradition alive.Viva Mexico!
